Reviewing FabFitFun: the Spring Box and $10 off Code

I’ve been receiving the quarterly FabFitFun box since the summer, so I thought I’d share what I received in my Spring box. At a price of $49.99, it is a bit more expensive than other subscription boxes I’ve tried, but there is usually at least one item that makes it worth it for me.

Here’s my fabulous Spring box:

And here is a breakdown of everything inside:

Herb Garden by MakersKit, $35
Fun fact about me, I love cute little plants… but I pretty much kill them all. This herb kit is super adorable and contains seeds (mint, thyme and basil), three plastic pots, compost and a wooden through. This will be a perfect little project for Jack and I to do together and hopefully we can even grow a little something to add into a recipe! Even better, for every MakersKit they sell (including this one), a school supply is donated to public schools in partnership with P.S.ARTS.

Keratin Gloves and Socks, $9.98
These waterless, all-in-one hand and foot treatments are supposed to strengthen nails and moisturize your skin with the benefits of keratin. I’ve never used this kind of treatment before, so I was pretty excited to try them out. The sock treatment is basically a large boot-shaped baggy filled with the special lotion. You put your foot inside and then leave it alone for at least 20 minutes.

FabFitFun foot treatment

I tried it out on Friday while I was working from home and even stepped it up a notch by putting some socks on over the baggie to keep warmth inside. I ended up leaving them on for about 40 minutes and when I took them off my feet were noticeably softer. (If you want to try them out, I found the hand/foot treatment on Amazon here and a 13 pack of just the foot treatment here).

Contour Kit by ISH, $32
I don’t really get fancy with my makeup and have never tried to contour before, but this kit seems awfully nice. Each palette includes a highlighter, blush, bronzer and contour. I received one in Light/Medium because I’m super-dooper pale.

Bath Bomb Trinity by Jus D’Amour, $28
YAY, I’m so excited to receive this set of bath bombs. Especially because Jack stole the one out of my Peaches & Petals box! These three bath bombs are made with organic ingredients and an essential oil blend. There is one to wake you up (eucalyptus, peppermint and lime), help you take a deep breath (lavender, chamomile and ylang ylang) or set the mood (jasmine, rose and sandalwood). I can’t wait to try these out for myself!

Tag Necklace by Jook & Nona, $65
The Jook & Nona Tag necklace is made of 18k gold-plated stainless steel and subscribers received either “Love,” “Happy,” “Inspire,” or “Dream.” This necklace is my absolute favorite thing out of the whole box and I’ve pretty much been wearing it nonstop since I opened it.

It couldn’t be more perfect and looks beautiful either on its own or layered with other pieces. Such a great find!

Shaving Emulation Lotion by HelloLegs, $19.95
I’m really glad I read the instructions on this one, because I thought it was hand lotion! It’s actually a lotion shaving cream that is supposed to give you a super soft shave. Just the thing that us ladies need after winter to bushwack our legs… am-I-right?!

Argan & Hemp Oil Therapy by Marrakesh, $22.99
I’ve used Argan Oil and Morraccan oil before, but never an Argan and Hemp oil mix. I can’t wait to try this on my hair to try and combat some of the coloring damage I put it through on a regular basis. This oil is supposed to leave you hair feeling soft with a healthy, frizz-free, glossy shine. Sign me up!

Yoga Mat Strap by Merrithew, $14.99
This item can be used as a strap for your yoga mat, or as a resistance cord for strength training. Out of the whole box, this is the only item I’m not really excited about. I don’t have a yoga mat and I prefer to use hand weights when I work out. Oh well, you can’t win them all!

$25 Gift Card by 31Bits, $25
FabFitFun always includes a couple gift cards in their boxes, which is nice. But honestly, I’d rather have actual items. In most cases, the store for the gift card is way too expensive and you can’t even get anything for the amount given. 31Bits jewelry is handmade by artisans in Uganda, allowing them to rise above poverty and create a better life for themselves. There are plenty of gorgeous necklaces available, but not much under $30. This one may be added to my giveaway pile.

$30 Gift Card by Sterling Forever, $30
Unfortunately this is another gift card that will probably not get used. There is some really pretty jewelry on the Sterling Forever website, but pretty much nothing near just $30.

The total value of everything in the Fall FabFitFun box is: $282.91. My favorite items from the box were the “love” necklace, the herb garden and the bath bombs. I could have done without the two gift cards and yoga mat strap, but for a cost of $49.99, I still feel like I got my money’s worth.
