For anyone who follows my #ootd photos on Instagram, you can see that I try to mix it up when it comes to my office style. I’ve been lucky enough to build a closet of work clothes that I enjoy (mostly secondhand) over the years, so it is fun to remix my favorite pieces time and time again.
However, my weekend outfits are not quite as exciting.
I tend to get into a rut where I’ll fall in love with a particular item or two and just wear them on repeat until I’m sick of them.
Instead of calling it a rut… I’m going to take a more positive approach. So, I’m starting this In Heavy Rotation series to share the items that I’m currently loving for my casual days!
You can see all three of the items here in this one outfit. As soon as the weather got a little chilly, I busted out this combo and I’ve been wearing it over and over again.
The sweatshirt/sweater hybrid Moto jacket
As I mentioned back in my Fall Style Inspiration post, I’ve been enjoying the look of moto jackets. I found this sweatshirt/sweater hybrid when doing a casual search of Anthropologie clothes on the Poshmark app and ended up buying it for just $15. It’s called the Loden Jacquard moto jacket if you want to search for it yourself and I find it true-to-size (I went with my typical large). It’s the perfect weight to throw over a t-shirt when the weather is chilly and I’ve been wearing it basically every weekend.
DL 1961 Instasculpt Skinny Jeans
I got these jeans back in 2019 in a Trunk Club trunk and in one of my spring-to-summer or summer-to-fall closet switchovers they got packed away someplace odd. Well, with the introduction of my new walk-in closet (in progress), I’ve been going through every single box of clothing and I found some stuff I hadn’t seen in a while, including these jeans. Unlike another not-to-be-named pair of jeans that I found and tried on only to throw them across the room because they were too small… these jeans fit perfect. They are now my new/old favorite jeans and I’ve been wearing them quite often. They go for big bucks at Nordstrom, but I found a bunch of pairs on Poshmark for as low as $40. Just search DL 1961 as the brand and then use a sub-search term of Instasculpt if you want to find them in your size.
Frye Veronica Short Slouch Boots
I picked these Frye boots up over the summer from a thrift pop up store and packed them away for cooler weather. Last month, I pulled them out, added my favorite fuzzy insoles (they are only $13 and work in boots AND slippers!) and OH MY GOSH they are heaven. They look great with jeans and casual dresses and they have certainly been in heavy rotation for the past month.
