If you remember back at the beginning of February, I gave myself a little challenge for the month. I decided to combine my love of thrifting and style with my very own style challenge where I’d wear at least one secondhand item every single day.
So, how’d it go?
Pretty awesome… except when I didn’t leave bed for a week with the flu!
Most of the items I wore were ones that I’d picked up at thrift stores over the past year or so. A couple items were purchased secondhand on eBay or Poshmark. All in all, it’s nice to know that you don’t need to spend a ton of money to look fabulous, or at least office appropriate!

For the most part, I do find myself more willing to try items outside of my style box when I find them thrifted. Buying something as a random “splurge” for $6 to try, is much nicer than deciding on whether to commit to a new style at retail prices. Or even retail prices on sale.
For example, I just picked up these fantastic floral Dr. Marten boots for $20:
I would not have bought them for their full retail price, but for thrift pricing I’m happy to experiment with mixing them into my casual outfits:
So, the moral of the story is… GO THRIFTING! I feel like that may be the moral of most of my stories…
While my Secondhand Style Challenge month has ended, you’ll still see a lot of thrifted pieces showing up in my wardrobe!
