Red Door Spa: The Mint Julep Spritzer Pedicure

{Disclaimer: I am a Red Door Spa #GalSquad Ambassador and receive services at no cost.}

For this month’s Red Door spa service, I had the chance to experience the Mint Julep Spritzer pedicure. This pedicure – besides sounding totally delicious – is one of their seasonal services with the scents of mint, magnolia and citrus.

Your feet are exfoliated with a lightly-scented citrus grass salt scrub, massaged with mint julep and lavender shea butter, and soaked in a honey-magnolia scented oil. A paraffin treatment seals in moisture and nails are polished in your favorite Essie shade. Click here to learn more about the Red Door Spa’s Mint Julep Spritzer services.

My feet were in some major need of some TLC to the point that they looked like Hobbit feet, so I scheduled an appointment as soon as I could fit one in my schedule. I’m counting down the days until I get to leave for the beach, so pretty toenails were totally on my to do list!

I had never been to the Gaithersburg location before, but it was just as beautiful as the spa in Baltimore.

Some awesome restaurants were in the same shopping area, so next time I’m going to have to bring a girlfriend and make a whole food/spa event out of it. Doesn’t the wall of nail polish just make you want to have pretty nails all the time? And I’m kind of intrigued by the cool green-blue shades at the top.

Once we get past all the clipping, filing and sanding of my paws, the paraffin treatment is my second favorite part of the pedicure. My absolute FAVORITE part is the leg and foot massage, of course. Mamma MIA was it fabulous!

After my toenails were painted the perfect orange-red shade, I hung out in the relaxation room until they were totally dry. I hate it when I immediately smudge a great looking pedicure!

I loved my chance to try out the Mint Julep Spritzer pedicure and my feet and legs are so incredibly soft after all that attention. Not to mention that my toenails are painted way more perfectly than I could ever imagine doing on my own!

Red Door Spa: The Elizabeth Arden PRO Renewal Facial

{Disclaimer: I am a Red Door Spa #GalSquad Ambassador and receive services at no cost.}

I’m so thrilled to share that I was invited to be a Red Door Spa #GalSquad Ambassador for another year. I really loved working with them last year and it looks like this year is going to be even more exciting… for me and for YOU too!

Red Door Spa - Pocketful of Joules

As an Ambassador, I’m invited over to the Baltimore Red Door Spa location once a month to experience a new product or service. I get the chance to tell you all about a spa service that you might not have tried/heard of before. In addition to all that goodness, this year my #GalSquad friends are going to provide me with some fantastic perks to pass along to you.

For my July service, I was able to experience the Elizabeth Arden PRO Renewal Facial. This facial is considered their most ‘active’ facial which accelerates and maximizes the product benefits allowing you to feel and see the results immediately. This facial is suitable for all skin types and boasts that your skin will appear more even with enhanced elasticity, texture, tone and clarity for a refreshed, nourished and youthful look. Click here to learn more about the Red Door Spa’s facial options.

I’ll be leaving for BlogHer on Wednesday, so I thought that I’d spoil myself a little by getting the Elizabeth Arden PRO Renewal Facial the weekend before my trip.

My esthetician was Tamara and she had an incredible amount of knowledge about skin, each product she was using and the ingredients in each product. After looking at my skin, she determined that the sensitive version of the facial would be best for me. In addition to the amazing facial experience, Tamara also did a hand and arm massage, as well as a neck and shoulder massage during the session.

It was incredibly relaxing and when I left I could absolutely already see results! I took this picture directly after the facial with a totally bare face:

#GalSquad: The Red Door Spa’s Brandied Pear and Marshmallow Body Melt Treatment

For the past few months I’ve been training hard for the Relay Marathon that I finally ran on October 17th. Running really takes a toll on your body, which is why I was super excited when my friends at Red Door told me that the October service was a body treatment. As an added bonus, I scheduled the treatment on my wedding anniversary, so I could start the day with some relaxation.

Red Door Spa - 1

I’ve never had a body treatment service before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. According to the spa, my skin would be polished to perfection with a Pear-infused Brandy and Sea Salt Scrub and then a targeted massage with Marshmallow Shea Butter will moisturize the skin.

Sounds pretty delicious… so let’s SUIT UP!

Red Door Spa - 2

I’ve had plenty of massages before – and love them – but this was a little different. They provide you with a pair of disposable undies (which is basically the smallest paper thong you can imagine) and you put it on and then get all comfy on the massage bed under a towel. Then, my massage therapist, Tanja, uncovered a body part a time and gently massaged the pear-infused brandy and sea salt scrub onto my body.

It smelled amazing and felt like the perfect combo of scratchy and a massage.

After all my bits and pieces had been covered in sea salt, Tanja switched out the massage bedding while I want to the adjoining shower to wash off. Once I was cleaned off and feeling as soft as a baby’s bottom, I returned to my little cocoon under the covers and Tanja massaged each part of my body with the Marshmallow Shea Butter. It wasn’t a full massage, but just enough to rub the lotion into my skin and feel extra wonderful.

I LOVED this month’s service. It was really relaxing and when I left the spa my skin was so smooth it practically glowed. On my way out I saw a display of the scrub and body butter that was used in the service and was super tempted to by the entire lot to hoard at home!

Red Door Spa - 3

If you’re looking for an awesome gift for someone special in your life, giving them a container of the pear-infused brandy and sea salt scrub with a note that you’ve booked them the body treatment would be amazing! In fact, I’m going to need to send a ‘hint-hint’ text to my husband…

Have you ever been to a spa to get a body scrub?

Disclosure: I am a Red Door #GalSquad Ambassador, which means that once a month I am able to experience a new product or service free of charge. I’m not required to blog about my experiences; only post a few pictures on my social media accounts (which will be shared on the Red Door Spa accounts).
