Trunk Club Review: A Little Daily Sparkle

When my Trunk Club stylist reached out to me before Christmas and asked if I had any holiday Trunk needs, initially I passed. I had a few fun sparkly and velvet items that I was planning to wear and didn’t really need anything else. However, I’ve been enjoying adding a little extra sparkle to my work looks for December, so I thought maybe I could ask her for more ‘daily sparkle’ items.

Here is what she sent over for me to try:

If you’re new to my Trunk Club reveals (you can find them all here), I don’t typically photograph every single one of the items. When the Trunk first arrives, I usually go through it and narrow down my choices to a pile of my favorites.

While trying everything on in my room, I initially had two favorites:

Topshop Chevron Knit Beanie Hat, $26 (find it here) and the 1901 Graphic sweatshirt, $59 on sale for $35.40 (find it here)

I love the fun pompom on the top of this beanie hat and it’s the perfect addition to my winter closet. As for the sweatshirt, it’s a shrunken style with a more fitted shape. I love the graphic writing and the extra sparkles on the “s”. This one was perfect to wear my last casual Friday of the year at work and will also be great to add to my comfy winter looks for a little extra pizazz.

Next up, I went ahead and bought another one of the Madewell Whisper Cotton V-Neck Pocket tee shirts (find it here) in black. When I was finalizing my Trunk preview, it popped up under the “do you want to add this to your Trunk” and was on super sale for $11, so I went ahead and added it knowing that I’d certainly get some wear out of an extra black tee.

Finally, I was intrigued by this sparkly shirt:

Chelsea28 Metallic Runched Side Seam Long Sleeve Top, $49 (find it here)

It’s thin and super comfortable with extra-long sleeves. I love, love, love the subtle sparkle! However, it is very fitted, which makes me self-conscious about my tummy. I love it so much though… so I bought it anyways. I’m imagining it under sweaters for a fun little pop of sparkle around the neckline and cuffs. I’m also going to try it with a flowy sweater vest type thingie, as well as a super cute short sleeved sweater/poncho thing I own. Stay tuned… I’m hoping to share some outfit ideas for this one on my Instagram soon!

  1. I had a shirt like that subtle sparkle shirt, once, and I wore it with a button down shirt that I wore open. A very casual, yet comfy combo. And, good as a casual work look. It looks like your stylist was really on the ball. Very cute ideas.

    Happy new year!
